INTERMEDIATE | POINTED PEN
Join me and learn Bastarda Italiana! This calligraphic style was in use between the 16th and the 18th century in many European countries. We will be using historical copy books to observe how this hand was executed (Italy, France, and England). We will learn to reproduce this script with a pointed pen (medium flex nib). Its extreme readability and clean strokes made it one of the three official styles of the French Royal Court in those centuries. These features make Bastarda Italiana a versatile style that can be paired with Copperplate even for certificates and wedding commissions.
