The Hunt 22 is one of our best-selling nibs for both beginners and seasoned calligraphers. This pointed nib is very similar to the Gillott 303 except for a couple key differences. Although the 22 has an excellent range of flexibility, it is slightly stiffer than the 303 and requires more pressure to create thick swells. Both nibs are very sharp and produce elegant hairlines, but the Hunt 22 isn't quite as sharp and can handle textured papers, such as Arches hot press, much easier.
These dependable nibs are excellent for Copperplate and suitable for Spencerian as well.

My go to nib
I don't have a problem switching between straight and oblique holders. The 22 B is as versatile as I am. In a straight holder, the letters are delicate, with fine lines and moderate swells. In the oblique holder, the fine lines are still there, but the swells get dramatically thicker. These aren't the sturdiest nibs - I rarely wear them out before the tines break off. (I suppose that qualifies as wearing out). It is a sight to behold when it happens as it pings off the wall, and then spins across the room, leaving ink spots. However, in my humble opinion, worth every penny, and every ink spot.

It is a very versatile pen, its tip works very well on both textured and smooth papers. with beautiful, thin ascending strokes. Excellent for apprentices and professionals.
