Ann Cobb -- Beginning Spencerian Script
- Pencil (mechanical or wooden)
- Oblique Pen Holder (lefties may choose to use a straight holder). Do NOT purchase the cheap plastic Speedball $1.99 Holder. For those new to the oblique, suggested holders include the Ziller, Peerless, or Pointed Oblique Holders. We will look at the various holders available.
- Pointed Nib: Nikko G is suggested for beginners. Other suggested nibs: Zebra G, Tachikawa G, Leonardt Principal EF, Gillott 303. (I will be using the Tachikawa G.)
- McCafferys Ink (preferred Indigo or Prairie Night) or walnut ink. Old World Ink and McCafferys Penmans Black are iron gall inks and harder on nibs. (Regular fountain pen ink is not recommended for pointed pen nibs).
- Pipette
- Large Dinky Dip
- Rhodia Blank paper -- orange cover
- Water container for rinsing nibs (clear plastic drinking cup or similar disposable is fine)
- Paper Towels for wiping nibs and cleaning up spills (best are Viva Paper Towels or blue shop paper towels)
- Blotter Paper for cushioning your work
- Note-taking supplies
- Snacks, lunch, and beverages
- Chair cushion if you want for your comfort
