The Mushroom Hunter’s Sketchbook with Margaret Saylor
Learn the basics of capturing mushrooms and fungi's unique shapes and textures in this fun workshop as we observe, document, and illustrate subjects found while foraging. Keeping a sketchbook is a wonderful way to build discipline in your art practice and allow experimentation in graphite, watercolor, and Micron pen. Build upon your work long after the class has concluded!
Supplies:
- Sketchbook suggestions: Hahnemuhle Toned Watercolor Book, A5. Buff or gray, your choice
- Graphite: a selection of hardnesses, a good sharpener, erasers
- Micron pens: Choose from a selection of black or sepia pens. Suggest 01, 05, 003, and 005.
- Watercolor: your choice of colors/brands; brushes at your discretion
- Suggested: Ruler, triangle, circle template, graph paper (1 or 2 sheets)
