Parchment Preparing Sandpaper
What exactly does it mean to "prepare" your parchment? Preparing parchment is pretty straightforward—it’s all about sanding the surface so it’s ready to absorb pigment or media. Just 30 seconds of sanding transforms the texture, and you can easily feel the difference. A smoother surface means better pigment absorption, faster drying times, and fewer bumps for your pointed nib to battle.
We recommend starting with 400 grit sandpaper for the bulk of the work, and ending with 1500 grit sandpaper for fine tuning.
