Yes it fits the dinky dips - but only spacing them every other one with the lids on.

I was so excited about this purchase because I saw it as the perfect holder or storage unit for my large collection of dinky dips, which are in essential elements of my calligraphy ink collection. Unfortunately, even though it holds the base of the dinky dip nicely — when the lid (which are a bit wider than the bottom) are on the dinky dip, it is impossible for you to place another dinky dip right next to another one. There is not enough space in between so they will not fit side-by-side. So basically that means I can only put dinky dips in 12 out of the 24 slots - every other slot offset. Also, the palette lid does not fit as the height of the smallest dinky dip is too high. You could definitely fit 24 in it and if you do NOT put the lids on your dinky dips - but ink color variations are sometimes imperceptible until you write with them so having a color/brand labeled lid is really important so you know what color you’re dipping into. Also, ink is messy and stains terribly, so having an accident or even a very small spill is a pretty big deal to clean up — having a bunch of dinky dips without lids on is really risky. I love the idea, and the price is great - and since it was described on the website as “ happens to perfectly fit our screwtop dinky dip vials” I guess I was just expecting things to work better. I purchased three of these units and I’m only able to store 36 dinky dips within the 72 spaces - so it’s not a very efficient storage solution, and since palette lid does not fit I have to use a rubber band to hold things together so the ones I can fit into the pallet do not fall out. Great idea just doesn’t function as it should.
